About Councilwoman Taiba Sultana
Councilwoman Taiba Sultana is a bold, community-centered leader serving the City of Easton and a history-maker. She became the first Muslim woman and the first woman of color ever elected to Easton City Council, breaking barriers that stood for generations and paving the way for a more inclusive, representative local government.
Known as a fighter for working families, Taiba brings an uncompromising voice for justice, transparency, and economic fairness to City Hall. As Chair of the Administration Committee, she champions accountability and ensures that decisions reflect the needs of the people — not the priorities of special interests.
An immigrant, mother, and longtime Easton resident, Taiba’s story is rooted in resilience and a deep commitment to service. She understands the challenges facing working families because she has lived them — and those lived experiences continue to shape her fearless, compassionate leadership.
Taiba is one of the most accessible public officials in the region. She hosts Coffee & Conversation gatherings, neighborhood walk-arounds, small-business visits, and community roundtables that invite residents directly into the policymaking process. She advocates strongly for affordable housing, responsible development, social-service protection, senior and youth support, and real economic opportunity for all.
Her mission is grounded in a simple belief: Easton’s future must be built with the people, for the people.
Every day, she works toward a fairer, stronger, more inclusive Easton where every family can thrive.
